Year 11 Sitcom Mock Exam
You are expected to prepare your answers in advance of the exam. You will have 1 ½ hours to complete the two tasks below.
In the summer, Denham Productions asked you to come up with an idea for a new sitcom which targets young people between 14 and 20. The new sitcom was expected to reflect our core values of respecting all members of society and providing good quality programming. We would now like to take things a stage further. Complete the tasks below to show us what you can do! Your ideas can be based on those you suggested last summer, or they can be entirely new.
Task 1
Produce a storyboard for the opening two minutes (approximately) of your sitcom, making sure you provide details of: shot, camera movement, transitions, length of take, sound effects, dialogue and music. The use of colour is strongly suggested.
Task 2
a.Where did you find inspiration for your situation comedy? Refer to the other sitcoms / TV programmes / films that have inspired your decisions.
b. Why would your intended audience find this to be a suitable opening for a TV situation comedy programme?
