You will have 1½ hours to complete this examination paper. It is expected that you will have prepared answers and ideas in advance.
The exam
Denham Publishing is keen to launch a new music magazine aimed at 13-19 year olds. They want to find out about your ideas for how best to create the new magazine. To help them you should complete the tasks below.
- Design a front cover and the layout for a feature article profiling a new artist. You should:
- decide on a title for the new magazine
- sketch the layout of the front cover and the feature article, to include all appropriate design features (titles, subheadings, colours and so on)
- explain what the pictures will look like
- write a sample of the text
- Evaluate each aspect of what you have produced for question 1, explaining how your magazine pages would satisfy the intended target audience
